Interview!

I finally had my interview today for the CF. But before we get to that, let’s step back a little. The prep that went into it all. The last few days I’ve been meticulously studying my trades. Knowing them inside and out. I even wrote out notes, studied their videos on the forces.ca website. I was going to be prepared damnit!

Then the next hurdle; what to wear? I spend a good chunk of the evening last night going through my closet and dresser, trying on various outfit and combinations. I steamed everything, which was not fun seeing as the humidex was hovering about 35+ degrees. I did not sleep well last night. Noisy neighbour next door was hammering away at 9:30pm. I pounded on the wall back at them. I think they got the message. Then sometime later someone drove up to out building with their music blasting. I was not impressed. I had just fallen asleep and I honestly thought my alarm had already gone off. I actually got up and went to turn it off until I realized the noise was not from my radio. then this morning I managed to sandwich my big toe between the bottom of the door and the floor.

Work felt like it was going at a snail’s pace. And I’m not liking how we’re supposed to do the mass receiving. All the gift products are getting too mixed up now, which slows me down on the floor. It’s also killing me not telling people at work about my interview. But I have to keep the CF private and separate.

So atfer work I go back to trying to figure out my wardrobe for my interview. I had to rule out a few tops because I noticed some small rips and a stain. I even went as far as to post selfies on facebook and asked my friends to vote. In the end, I was happy with what I wore.

I arrived very early. About 50 mins to be exact. But I wanted to err on the side of caution. Best to be too early than running late.

I can’t go into specifics about the interview. I’m not allowed. So I’m sorry, I can’t divulge what they asked me. What I can say is that I felt more like I was talking to a guidance councilor. After it was all said an done, which was about just over an hour later, I feel good. chances are I wont get in for Traffic Tech, but it was only my 3rd choice. The main reason why is because they only have 4 openings left for the year. I am still a good candidate for Avionics and Aviation systems tech, and really that’s all that’s important right now.

So fingers crossed! Here’s hoping I get accepted this fall!
